another long drought
I wonder if all of you must be secretly hoping that I have examinations more often. Because it certainly seems like I only bother to blog when I need something to distract me from the examinations.
Well… I admit it certainly seems the case. It seems like the last thing I want to do during the holidays is blog. For the past 2 weeks of the holidays, I have only blogged once and even then it was more out of necessity to be honest, as I needed to write an article for my faculty’s magazine anyway.
But I do have a very good excuse. I was working. And it was not just a simple 9 to 5 job either. I was working for 13 hours!! By the time I came back home I only had enough time (and functioning brain cells) to play DOTA. So my blogging really begins now.
Now that my job is over, I hope to complete some items on my checklist. I couldn’t meet up with my old primary school buddy because he’s currently working too and the tuition thing I mentioned before is cancelled because the student wants a good rest. However, other than that, it seems like I should be able to accomplish most of my other things.
I think my “proficiency” in DOTA is now on the same level as my church friends, which in honesty means my church friends aren’t that good. However, I don’t see that as a bad thing. As long as everyone has fun that’s all that matters right? =)
I also played pool today which was very fun for the same reason: my friend and I were equally good. It would be unfair to say we were equally bad because we both made a lot of good shots today. My friend knows how to place the shots. They roll into the pocket as if they were drawn in by a string. It is so smooth and gentle yet deadly accurate. On the other hand, I’m good at those long distance canon balls. I just hit the cue-ball real hard and the coloured balls just crash into the far pocket. 2 very different styles but we made a lot of good shots with it. I tend to score on long distance shots while my frien scores on short distance. While my friend would slice a ball into the far pocket, I blast the ball off so it bounces off the cushion into the side pocket. And both work.
I really must learn how to kiss like the way my friend does.
Haha… in pool terms I mean… kissing the ball is when your white ball just touches the side of the coloured ball so that the coloured ball appears to be traveling perpendicular to the white ball. Of course we know from physics that can’t be true. It’s more like 80 degrees than 90 but it’s still beautiful to watch and my friend does it perfectly. I must learn someday. =)
Thanks for the fun =)
